Find Adobe Photoshop in the programs list (you can use search filter, just type 'adobe' to find immediately all Adobe Products installed on your PC). Choose Uninstall selected application or double click on the item in the list. Carefully follow all uninstaller instructions and wait while uninstall process is finished. In most cases, you can remove Photoshop Elements 10 by running its uninstaller. You can access the installer from the Programs And Features item in Windows 7 and Vista. Of, if you have Windows XP, you can access the uninstaller in the Add Or Remove Programs item in the Control Panel.
If Photoshop Elements 10 isn't listed in the Control Panel, or you receive an error when you try to uninstall it, then you can manually remove it. Manually uninstalling also ensures that the application has been removed completely from your computer.
Note: Some of the steps below require you to identify specific details about the edition of Windows you are using. If you do not know these details, see Determine whether your computer is running a 32-bit or a 64-bit edition of Windows.
Note: It's possible that your system doesn't contain all of the files, folders, and registry entries listed below. If you can't locate a particular file, folder, or registry entry on your computer, then proceed to the next item in the list.
Choose Start > Control Panel or Start > Settings > Control Panel.
Do one of the following:
- Windows XP: Double-click Add Or Remove Programs.
- Windows 7, Vista: If the Control Panel is in a Control Panel Home view, then click Uninstall A Program under Programs.
- Windows 7, Vista: If the Control Panel is in Classic View, then double-click Programs And Features.
In the list of installed programs, select Adobe Photoshop Elements 10, and then click Uninstall or Remove.
Click Remove, and then follow the remaining onscreen instructions to complete the removal.
After you uninstall Photoshop Elements 10, perform the remaining tasks below to ensure that the application has been removed completely.
The Watch Folders service runs in the background on your computer. The service detects photos that you add to folders that are on the Organizer's watch folder list. If this service is running, then you can't remove all of the folders listed in the next section.
Choose Start > Run (Windows XP) or click Start (Windows 7 and Vista).
In the list of services, locate Adobe Active File Monitor V10. If it is not listed, this section.
Right-click Adobe Active File Monitor V10, and then do one of the following:
- Choose Stop from the pop-up menu. Proceed to the next step.
- If Stop is unavailable (it is dimmed), then the service is already stopped. Proceed to the next step.
Back up any personal files you want to save from the following folders, and then delete the folders and files for your edition of Windows:

Uninstalling Adobe Premiere Elements or Adobe Photoshop Elements removes the application from your computer. If you uninstall a licensed version of the application, the license is deactivated from the computer.
How To Uninstall Photoshop
Note:
Do not attempt to manually uninstall or remove Adobe Photoshop Elements or Adobe Premiere Elements by dragging folders to the Recycle Bin (Windows) or Trash (macOS). Doing so can cause problems when you try to reinstall the product.
- Make sure that you have administrative privileges for the account you are using.
- Turn off firewalls, antivirus software, and third-party security software to speed up the uninstallation process.
Do the following:
- (Windows 10 and Windows 8) In the taskbar, right-click the Start menu and choose Control Panel.
- (Windows 7 and Vista) Choose Start > Control Panel.
Note:
The procedures in this document are based on the default Windows interface. If your interface is customized, some procedures vary. For example, navigating to Control Panel from the Start menu could be Start > Settings > Control Panel instead of Start > Control Panel.
Do the following:
- (Windows 10 and Windows 8) If you're viewing the Control Panel by Category, in the Programs category, click Uninstall a Program. If you're viewing by icons, click Programs and Features.
- (Windows 7) Select Programs > Programs and Features and double-click Uninstall a Program.
- (Windows Vista) Select Programs > Programs and Features.
Select Adobe Photoshop Elements or Adobe Premiere Elements.
(Optional) If you don't want to keep the application preferences, select Remove Preferences.
Click Uninstall and follow the onscreen instructions to remove the application.
Note:
If you get any error message or the application is still visible, try reinstalling the application and then uninstall.
Open Finder and navigate to /Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers.
Start the Uninstaller for Adobe Photoshop Elements or Adobe Premiere Elements.
(Optional) If you don't want to keep the application preferences, select Remove Preferences.
Click Uninstall and follow the onscreen instructions to remove the application.

If you get any error message or the application is still visible, try reinstalling the application and then uninstall.
